NWRA’s Katie Evans on Women in Trucking Radio Show

Arlington, VA – Katie Evans, vice president of chapter management and member relations for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA), joined Ellen Voie on SiriusXM’s Women in Trucking radio program. Evans talked about the 20th Anniversary of the Women’s Council and its children’s book, the “ABCs of the Waste and Recycling Industry.”

“I appreciated the opportunity to talk to Ellen about the work of NWRA and its Women’s Council,” said Evans. “The Women’s Council published its children’s book, which illustrates the waste and recycling industry from a child’s viewpoint. The book is one of many resources the Women’s Council has produced to help build awareness of the waste and recycling industry.”

The NWRA Women’s Council was established in 2003 for member company employees. It’s dedicated to advancing and promoting the waste and recycling industry, along with giving back to our member companies through education, networking, professional development and the award of academic scholarships.

The Women’s Council also produced the “Where Does My Garbage Go?” coloring book. It was first published in 2003 as an enjoyable and educational tool to teach children about the route that waste and recycling take from the curb.

The Women’s Council is open to any employee of an NWRA member company.
