NWRA’s Safety Monday Highlights the Differences Between a Heart Attack and Cardiac Arrest

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Republic Services, identifies the differences between a heart attack and cardiac arrest.

“A heart attack is a circulation problem, and a cardiac arrest event is an electrical problem,” said Kirk Sander, NWRA chief of staff and vice president, safety and standards. “It is vital to call 9-1-1 in an emergency.”
