NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Drivers to Avoid Distractions While Driving

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Safety Monday for this week, presented by Republic Services, reminds drivers to avoid distractions and keep their eyes on the road.

“It is easy to get distracted while driving. We encourage drivers to keep mobile phones on silent or off, keep both hands on the wheel, get plenty of rest and eat well to avoid distractions,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for NWRA. “It is important our drivers make safety a priority on the road.”

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
