NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Drivers to Slow Down in Winter Weather

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Safety Monday for this week, provided by Republic Services, reminds waste collection drivers to slow down and allow for more space when driving in winter weather.

“Winter weather can mean unpredictable driving conditions,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for NWRA. “We encourage drivers to be prepared for changing driving conditions.”

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
