NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Waste Collection Workers to Follow Lockout/Tagout Policies

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Republic Services, reminds waste collection workers to follow lockout/tagout policies to avoid injuries and fatalities.

“When working on energized equipment, it is critical to ensure that all sources of energy for the equipment are considered and isolated,” said Kirk Sander, NWRA chief of staff and vice president, safety and standards. “We urge waste collection workers to consult their company’s lockout/tagout program for all required procedures.”
