NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Workers to Walk Like a Penguin to Avoid Slips, Trips and Falls

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by WM, reminds waste collection workers to walk like a penguin to avoid injuries and fatalities from slips, trips and falls.

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that nearly one million people are injured from slips and falls each year,” said Kirk Sander, NWRA chief of staff and vice president, safety and standards. “It is important that waste collection workers follow safe practices at home and work.”
