Katie Raverty-Evans is the vice president of chapter relations for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA). She handles all government affairs and chapter activities for Ohio, Kentucky and the Carolinas. Additionally, Katie is responsible for leading the NWRA Women’s Council and assisting with the planning of WasteExpo’s education program.
Before joining NWRA, Katie worked for nearly a decade at a large family-owned waste and recycling company, where she was responsible for critical activities associated with developing and growing a new division for the company. She also monitored Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio legislative and regulatory activities and oversaw new policies that supported the company’s goals. In addition, she was an active NWRA member by sitting on multiple NWRA state chapters, serving as vice chair for the Government Affairs Committee and serving as president of the NWRA Women’s Council.
Katie is a graduate of Thomas More College, where she received a BA in communications and two associate degrees in business administration and fine arts, and was named a 2019 Waste360 40 Under 40 award recipient. She loves spending time with her family, giving back to her local community, and enjoying a good bourbon in her spare time.
