NWRA Extends Deadline for Driver of the Year and Operator of Year Applications

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) announced it is extending the deadline for Driver of Year and Operator of the Year applications to December 31.

“Extending the deadline by more than a week will allow our member companies time to ensure they have submitted complete applications,” said Kirk Sander, NWRA chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards.

The Driver of the Year awards honor member drivers who operate their trucks in a safe and responsible manner, have outstanding performance records and whose contributions have enhanced the overall safety and image of the solid waste industry.

The Operator of the Year award recognizes heavy equipment operators working in post-collection operations, including landfills, materials recovery facilities and transfer stations.

Those selected for these prestigious honors will be recognized during NWRA’s Awards Breakfast on Tuesday, May 7 at WasteExpo 2024 in Las Vegas.
