NWRA Safety Monday Recognizes the Value of Proper Labeling in the Workplace

Arlington, VA – This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Waste Management, recognizes the importance of properly labeled containers to maintain a safe work environment.

“It is important that containers are properly marked so the contents can be clearly identified,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA). “A Sharpie is not sufficient. All containers must have a proper GHS compliant label.”

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
