NWRA’s Safety Monday Reminds Drivers to Be Aware Near School Zones

Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) Safety Monday for this week, presented by Waste Management, reminds drivers to watch for children, school buses and other vehicles near school zones.

“We know school zones can be busy with school buses, children walking to school and children getting in and out of cars. It is important that waste collection drivers watch for activity in and around school zones,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety and standards for NWRA.

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
